Get Better Ranking With WebSite Optimization

In an increasingly global Internet community, many techniques
have surfaced in succession that companies may take hold of as
much market share as possible. After all, the Internet is used
by a fat variety of people from all over the world, each in
their own way a potential customer. Formerly, functioning
through the Internet and finding content relevant to ones search
was simple; only a few websites were up and running online.
These days, however, the Internet is a deluge of content in all
shapes and sizes, with people of diverse age groups,
backgrounds, and geographic locations, generating their let on
online publications and content. Therefore, customers rely
greatly on various tools made available to them to simplify
their lives.

Search engines are online interfaces used to search for relevant
content online based on the keywords entered in the field by the
Internet users. Therefore, businesses online must find a way to
be prioritized among hundreds and thousands of businesses
offering similar or congruent content. One of these methods
designed towards maximizing the potential of the Internet for
businesses that rely greatly on generating Internet traffic
towards their online website is SEO, or Search Engine
Optimization.

Web site Optimization is a method used to give a particular
website and its content better ranking in a search engines query
response listings. It usually tries to give websites an edge
over others, particularly in those organic or crawler search
engines. Organic searches are those listings yielded without
payment crawler search engines simulate the act of crawling
ended the web and following links through to their respective
web pages. However, like all good things, SEO has come
subservient attack of misuse by mortals who wanted to returns
advantage of it. This is the reason why today, SEO is
categorized into white hat SEO, or SEO legitimately used by
consulting agencies to assist clients online, and black hat SEO,
used to ply search engine listings with unethical methods.

While black hat SEO makes use of unethical methods to use
listings and to deceive others, white bowler SEO focuses on
honest methods of improving a website and its contents in order
to promote it in the Internet much better. Many websites try
generating traffic to their website by various methods pay per
click advertisings, prepaid advertisements, and organic search
listings. SEO is powerfully more interested in increasing
profitability through the last method, organic search listings.

Pay per click advertising, which entails the advertiser to pay
Google or similar agencies only for the number of clicks an
online advertisement banner generates and not for ad placement,
may ride up costs. This happens when the website tops listings
and generates traffic from a huge client base, of which not
organic of them are interested in purchasing the product or
service that will provide the company profit. Organic search
listings, however, display listings of websites regardless of
whether or not they are paid. What SEO primarily does in rule to
maximize the power of organic search listings is concentrating
relevant keywords.

White hat SEO, because it focuses on improving websites
collectively in order to generate genuine rankings in listings,
concentrates on better content for the website. Accurate
portrayal of a business individuality is at the core of ethical
SEO. The first way to do it is by making a clean code, which is
a significantly simpler truth aimed more in delivering joyous to
the users of the website. A cleaner, simpler code, helps crawler
search engines decipher the relationships and links between
pages and keywords.

The second means is creating beefed up content written in order
to provide information and maximum satisfaction to customers.
Search engines take into account the satisfaction of customers
on the basis of relevance of content and even the frequency of
visits, usually related to the quality of the content offered by
the website. By concentrating on providing quality tip and
content to customers, the website gains grounding among online
visitors. At the end of the day, by helping the consumers
perceive and interpret better the content of the website
straight at the point of indices in search engines, one can best
maximize SEO and the rankings of the page in listings. Bag is
key in trying to make sure traffic is directed towards the
business website only by providing relevant content can
longevity mean achieved amidst various trends that claim to
provide the business all it needs.

On Page Search Engine Optimization Factors - Do They Matter?

Let's hop into our Internet time machine and take a trip. Today
we're headed back in time to 2000 - in Internet time, that seems
like 100 years ago. You're an SEO expert and you want to write a
book on how to get to the top of search engines - what do you
talk about? Meta tags are definitely on the way out. Links help
but this is cutting edge stuff - not the basis of your book. So
you talk about keyword density. You say if you want to get
ranked highly for a specific term, you need to have that in your
title and you need to have it show up towards the top of your
page, and in other parts of the page and have your page be
keyword dense for your chosen topic. And I'm not talking about
1-3% keyword density - 100% keyword density for a word actually
worked for some phrases.

Ahh, the memories. The days when keyword density actually
mattered.

Back to late 2006. Keyword density is dead. DEAD! In fact the
question comes up if it's even important what content is
actually on your webpage or if it all depends on links.

Let's take some famous examples - first go to
http://google.com and type in the
word failure. The first result you'll see is President George W.
Bush's bio. Go ahead and look at the page, and tell me how many
times the word failure shows up on the page. Yep - zero.

To be fair, let's go back to
http://google.com again, now type in
waffles. The number one result you'll see here is John Kerry's
website. Go ahead and count the number of times you find the
word waffles on that page. Indeed - zero again.

So what's going on here? The reason George Bush's and John
Kerry's site are showing up so highly for failure and waffles is
because of anchor text. (This particular tactic actually has a
name - called GoogleBombing - but that's for a different day.) A
large number of websites, have links pointing to George Bush's
website with the word failure in the link.

So what should this tell us - first of all, stop worrying so
much about perfectly optimizing your website and start worrying
about what the websites linking to you say.

Now I should say that having the keyword you want to rank highly
for in your tag and having relevant content on that page does
definitely help, and if you're targeting a highly competitive
word, then you'll need to have relevant content on your page.
However, don't worry about having exact keyword densities for
your pages - they're not helping you, in fact they may be
hurting you since the search engines found out that ranking by
keyword density was easily abused so now they actually penalize
sites that are considered "overoptimized" or too keyword dense.
Just write naturally and leave it alone - that's what the search
engines want.

Instead, make sure the links pointing to your site tell your
story and say what your site is about. Instead of links that say
"click here", get links that say "widgets" or whatever your site
is about.

Before I finish here, I want to give you my favorite example for
"Google Bombing." Go to the home page of
http://google.com. This time type in
French military victories and click the "I'm Feeling Lucky"
button. Nothing against, the French, but that's hilarious. Click
on the French military defeats link for a good laugh.

Blogging For SEO Benifits

It is finally time to create a blog that has enough presence on
the net that it will be #1 in search engines for phrases you
want. Links are king for search engines. Content is also
important but we all know that links are what search engines see
at first, the content is going to keep you at the top when you
get there.

We are all aware of the time factor that there is when it comes
to Google and other search engines. In my experience, it takes a
month or more before your website shows up in any search engine
for any key phrase. You will see that you gain search engines
traffic all the time as long as you use this strategy.

Back to the blogging. To make sure you have links pointing to
your site that are going to raise your site in search engines
utilize blog directories and social bookmarking. These two
things are going to magnify the power of your blog my 10 fold
thanks to these two miracles of the internet.

An example of a social bookmarking site is
de.lici.us . What you
have to do is sign up and add your blog to your favorites. This
site allows people to publicly add sites to there favorites so
this is where content comes in as well. If people don't like
what your writing, they won't bookmark your content. Then what
you do is go to the blog area of your account and add the code
that allows others to add you to there favorites. Add the code
to the area of your blog where your posts are. This can be done
on many blogs. Now people will add you to there favorites and
this will increase traffic and links to your sites.

A blog directory is a place that indexes blogs in exchange for
you placing a little rectangle that says blog on it to your
blog. This is a reciprocal link but it will increase traffic to
your site and any links counts. An example for this is
blogcatalog.com . If you have ever added your site to a regular
web directory to your site you can do this because it is the
same thing. The benefit of this is that people are always
looking for blogs with info. Blogs are also updated much more
often.

Until next time, remember that you must always take massive
action and never be reluctant to do something but always plan
before you do anything.

Keywords In Page Title For SEO

It is recommended to use keywords in page titles itself. This
title tag is different from a Meta description or keyword tag,
but it's and important onsideration for your overall page
optimization.

Whatever text one places in the title tag (think keywords and
theme here) will appear in the title bar of browsers when they
view the web page. Some browsers also append whatever you put in
the title tag by adding their own name, as for example
Microsoft's Internet Explorer or OPERA.

The actual text you use in the title tag is one of the most
important factors in how a search engine may decide to rank your
web page. In addition, all major web crawlers will use the text
of your title tag as the text they use for the title of your
page in your listings. This, much like a headline in a
newspaper, invites the reader along with setting the topic and
theme.

If you have designed your website as a series of websites or
linked pages and not just a single Home Page, you must bear in
mind that each page of your website must be search engine
optimized. The title of each page i.e. the keywords you use on
that page and the phrases you use in the content will draw
traffic to your site.

The unique combination of these words and phrases and content
will draw customers using different search engine terms and
techniques, so be sure you capture all the keywords and phrases
you need for each product, service or information page.

However, make sure you do not keyword stack, or keyword spam.

The most common mistake made by small business owners when they
first design their website is to place their business name or
firm name in every title of every page. Actually most of your
prospective customers do not bother to know the name of your
firm until after they have looked at your site and decided it is
worth book marking.

So, while you want your business name in the title of the home
page, it is probably a waste of valuable keywords and space to
put it in the title line of every page on your site. Why not
consider putting keywords in the title so that your page will
display closer to the top of the search engine listing.

Dedicating first three positions for keywords in title avoiding
the stop words like 'and', 'at' and the like is crucial in
search engine optimization.

Benefits Of SEO For Ecommerce

The purpose of any business website is to promote a product or
service online. The purpose of an ecommerce website is to take
it one step further and to allow your visitors to purchase your
products or services directly from your website. The ecommerce
website has many great advantages over the non-ecommerce website
in that it allows for the generation of revenue with
little-or-no time spent in selling past the cost to have the
website designed and maintained, and it does not require the
visitor to call you during business hours thus helping secure
the sale to an impulse buyer. If your website provides all the
information that the buyer would want, you can save significant
money in sales time spent in that the visitor can find all the
information they need to decide to buy from you without taking
up your time or that of one of your sales staff. But ecommerce
sites have a serious drawback as well, very few of them can be
properly indexed by search engine spiders and thus will fail to
rank highly.

A non-ecommerce website may have the disadvantage on not being
able to take the visitor's money the second they want to spend
it, however if it can be found on the first page of the search
engines while your beautifully designed ecommerce site sits on
page eight, the advantage is theirs. The vast majority of
visitors will never get to see your site, let alone buy from
you, whereas a non-ecommerce site may lose sales because they
don't sell online but at least they're able to deliver their
message to an audience to begin with. So what can be done? The
key is in the shopping cart you select.

The biggest problem with many SEO-friendly ecommerce solutions
is that they are created after the initial product. Shopping
cart systems such as Miva Merchant and OS Commerce are not
designed with the primary goal of creating pages that will be
well-received by the search engine spiders. Most shopping cart
systems out there today are not in-and-of-themselves even
spiderable and require 3rd party add-ons to facilitate even the
lowest form of SEO-friendliness. The money you may have saved in
choosing an inexpensive shopping cart may very well end up
costing you your business in the long run, especially if you are
using your shopping cart as the entire site.

There are essentially two solutions to this problem. The first
is to create a front-end site separate from the shopping cart.
What this will effectively do is create a number of pages that
can be easily spidered. The drawback to this course of action is
that your website will forever be limited to the size of the
front-end site. The second option is to choose a search engine
friendly shopping cart system.

Finding an SEO-friendly shopping cart system is far easier said
than done. There are many factors that have to be taken into
account including the spiderability of the pages themselves, the
customization capacity of the individual pages, the ease of
adding products and changing the pages down the road, etc.

SEO Services, What To Look For

Search engine optimization has evolved into a competitive,
growing industry. There are plenty of hoaxes and scams on the
web. It seems that as the Internet grows more complex, so do the
scams. Choosing an effective company can be quite a challenge.
There are many factors to consider when hiring an SEO service.
This article gives advice on how to select a credible website
optimization service.

Assess the services and credibility of the SEO company. Customer
service is always the key factor that one should look at. There
are many ways of assessing an SEO service. One can try to
inquire by placing a call or by sending an email to the company.
Depending on the courtesy and time of response, you can
initially assess its customer service. Does the company provide
an "about us" page on their website? A reputable online business
will provide an informative look at the personal side of their
company and who they are. Look for other company details such
as, the company address and location.

Avoid a guarantee of instant results or the #1 position. There
are many factors to consider when optimizing a webpage. Search
engines use different algorithms and their spiders can vary. Any
SEO company that guarantees the #1 position in the search
results should be avoided. A legitimate company will be straight
forward and honest and will tell its clients that no single
company can give a guarantee of the top positions in the search
results. A desireable SEO service should also provide reports
and details regarding the standing of a client's website. They
will be able to track the developments of their clients website
in terms of keywords, links and their rankings in the major
search engines.

A customer testimonial can provide a valuable insight when
assessing a company's credibility. A satisfied customer is
always a good indication of the effectiveness of a company's
operations and will always be the most valuable piece of
information about its integrity. If possible try to locate and
contact people who have received benefits from hiring an
optimization service or at least try to validate the
testimonials.

It's important to consider the cost of website optimization.
Keep in mind a higher price does not necessarily mean the
expensive services are more effective than the less expensive
ones. The optimization rates companies charge may vary greatly.
Search engine optimization is a trial and error process which
requires research, hard work and dedication. Make sure the SEO
service is primarily involved in search engine optimization and
does not treat it as a sideline.
